Island Montessori’s Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS)

The MTSS Leadership Team supports the work of implementing and sustaining a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework through the lens of data, systems, and practices for all students. The MTSS framework focuses on academics and behavior from Kindergarten through 8th grade.

Island Montessori MTSS Definition

MTSS is a school improvement framework that encompasses academics, behavioral, social, and emotional instruction and support. Island Montessori’s MTSS employs a systems approach using data-driven problem-solving and research- based curriculum to maximize growth for all students.

Vision

Island Montessori implements and sustains all components of a multi-tiered system of support to ensure college, career, and/or community readiness for all students.

We believe that Island Montessori’s MTSS is the most effective and efficient approach to improving school and student outcomes, thereby ensuring a sound basic education for ALL.

Mission Statement

Island Montessori Administration and the MTSS Leadership Team will prepare and support implementation of a multi-tiered system of support for total school improvement by providing professional development, coaching and technical assistance, research and evaluation, and communications and visibility that results in college, career, and/or community readiness for all students.
